Our Multicultural Family Fun Day event took place on the 1st of July 2016 from 10:30am to 2pm. It was a huge success, with close to 400 people in attendance.
The day started with the opening of Hill Street Family Resource Centre’s photo exhibition ‘Cherishing all of the Children of the Nation Equally’. We were delighted to have Minister for Children & Youth Affairs, Dr Katherine Zappone present on the day.
The event continued with many fun activities for children: arts & crafts, sports and games (we had giant Connect Four, Jenga and Checkers thanks to Dublintown.ie), bouncy castles, face painting and balloon animals. We had a great performances by a Samba Band, the No Strings Theatre Company puppet show and a juggler. There was a visit by local Gardaí ,our local Public Health Nurses and the Migrant Rights Centre. Everyone enjoyed delicious food prepared by our parents.
We all had lots of fun that even the rain couldn’t spoil!
