of the Nation Equally 1916-2016’

Photography Exhibition of Families in the Hill Street Community 1916 – 2016
(Photography by Jeanette Lowe)

As part of Dublin City Council’s Social Inclusion Week, Hill Street Family Resource Centre’s Photo Exhibition will be exhibited for three weeks from the 26th September in Dublin City Council’s Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.

All are Welcome!!!

This is a cross generational, multi-cultural photography exhibition, funded by Dublin City Council, commemorating 1916 through the production of a visual photographic record of the changing face of families living in the local community close to Hill Street from 1916 to 2016.

Over the course of 3 days, Jeanette Lowe, a photographic artist, took forty-eight family portraits from 18 different nationalities, which will be on display from July 1st as part of the exhibition. Through a dialogue on the meaning of community and belonging with local residents and the families who take part in Hill Street programs, we hope that this process has laid the foundations to building closer relationships between families from the New Communities and our older neighbours.
