Lunar New Year Celebration 2022


Hill Street Family Resource Centre has been celebrating Lunar New Year for eight years. Although this year the celebration cannot take place on the street, Hill Street FRC is happy to host this year’s celebration online from February 1st to 12th 2022.

Day 7 – Monday 7th February

Dance Group – Monsters Patrol de Mountain

Guzheng instrument piece

The Guzheng is a traditional wooden string instrument with over 2500 years of history! Here, Richard Chen shows us the magnificent sound on the Guzheng!


Day 8 -Tuesday 8th February

Hulusi instrument piece

Amia and Anna play the song ‘Baboo Under the Moonlight’ on the Hulusi! The Hulusi, also known as the gourd flute is a Chinese woodwind instrument played by indigenous people all around Asia!

Chinese dance group – ‘The flowers are so red’

Join Hill Street Family Resource Centre’s Dance Group as they perform ‘The Flowers are so Red’.


Day 9-Wednesday 9th February

Chinese dance group ‘Happy face’

Continuing with our 12 day Lunar New Year celebration, Hill Street Family Resource Centre’s Dancers and Singers perform, ‘Happy Face’!

Chinese Fruit and Vegetables I

Learn the names of various fruits and vegetables sold locally and used in Chinese cooking by Chuan Sun and narrated by Bowen Chen. If you wish to purchase any of the fruits and vegetables, visit one of the shops on Parnell Street, Dublin 1.
